Buy Out Info
Free Buy out for players making 1M or less. Players making 1M or less do not have to go through waivers for buy out.
Players must be posted in "On Waivers" thread to be bought out
Players that are bought out count against the salary cap. 25% of contract for the life of the contract. 4M UFA 2024 player, counts as 1M each year until 2024.
Max of 3 buyouts per team at any given time.
Minors - Sending Players to AHL
Each team is only allowed 5 buried contracts in the AHL.
Players aged 24 or younger making 1.7M or less, do not have to go through waivers to be put in the minors.
Players making 1M or less do not have to go through waivers to be sent to the AHL.
If player clears, team carries 1/3 of the players salary for life of contract
Players that have previously cleared waivers must be placed on waivers at the start of each season to be sent to the minors.
Generel Waiver Rules
If multiple teams claim a player, the team that is lowest in the current standings gets the player
Waiver Period is 20-30 Hours.
Once a player is posted on waivers and has been claimed, they CAN NOT be pulled back. If the player has not been claimed, they can be pulled back from waivers and the team needs to inform an admin that they are doing so.
Waivers & Buyouts For Retained Salary
If a player with salary retention is sent to the minors, The team that is retaining salary must pay full amount.
If a player with salary retention is bought out, the team that is retaining will only have 0.25% of the amount they are retaining count against the cap.
Juniors (18/19 yr olds)
18/19 yr olds will not count against the cap unless they are playing in the NHL.
18 yr olds can't play in the AHL, no exceptions.
19 yr olds can play in the AHL or NHL.
18 yr olds must be listed on 18/19 NHL Junior List prior to season start. New Thread will be created at the start of each season.
18/19 yr olds can't be sent back to Juniors once the NHL season has started.
