To balance out the OA and positional value and pretty much just to get a deal done. I’m not that high on Kostin so it didn’t seem like a huge deal to me.

To me, 1 for 1 is an equal trade, no need for Kostin to be in the trade. It doesn't balance it out but makes the trade one-sided for NJ.

D are worth more than forwards imo and Bowen is two overalls higher than Podkolzin. Considering you guys have been preaching that upgrades are going to be a lot tougher here than the other leagues I would assume that those two overalls have value. Kostin doesn't even make my top 6 and is currently in Vancouver's AHL so he doesn't care much for him.

Auto upgrades were changed so unless you are 18, you dont get an automatic upgrade playing in the NHL as a teenager. Trying to make it so all the 18/19 yr olds don't become super elite so quickly. Playing in your top 6 has no bearing on anything. Kostin literally could play on the 3rd line or possibly 4th line of any team and would get a max upgrade making him 80 OA after the season. So yeah, to me it becomes a one-sided deal.  I'm also only 1 reject
