My argument isn’t points, it’s everything else. Fleury is arguably the most well-rounded 83 d-man this season.

- 7th in d-men for hits
- 8th in d-men for takeaways

Then he has 12 more points then Walker and +10 better.
On top of that he has 112 blocks (the only thing he trails Walker in), but that is still not enough for an upgrade.
The guy deserves a +3 this season. He put up decent points while being a top 5 dmen in the peripherals...

But yes. It’s not all about points. It’s pretty plain to see, it’s annoying having to point everything out

Fleury is an 83, so he outperformed expectations.

Also, I guess I have to ask outright: can you explain to me how you said that defensemen are not all about points, but failed to mention how Fleury isn’t getting an upgrade despite being top 2 in two separate categories? 

I’m guessing when you say “points don’t matter” you’re saying just points and blocks matter but nothing else?

He didn't outperform expectations based on the stats used for upgrades for TWD. Switch him to a OFD and he should be fine.

Hits are not really used for upgrades, only to stop/slowdown downgrades.

Pts, Blks, Tks are the main stats for defencemen. I choose 2 for each player type and use them for upgrades. The other ones are used to possibly stop any downgrades.

Why not be happy with what you have? Some get upgrades.....sone don't. It is a game, simple as that. Maybe he will get a boost next season.

Not a huge fan of the +3 max for 20-23 y/o. Denisenko gets 33 goals and ends up an 80.

I get the intention of that rule but I feel like there should be like a slightly staggered thing for upgrades where lower overalls are easier to get? Like for an extreme example if I played like a 65 overall 20 year old in the NHL and he gets like 20 points he should be able to be like a 75, not a 68. Could be like a max of +4 for guys 75-80, max +6 for 70-74, no max for 69 or under.

Could do similar for juniors guys too, I saw a bunch of 50-something 19 year olds getting +1 and its like "whats even the point of that?"

Might not be worth the extra work though, idk. I appreciate the effort either way.

Come up with a better system then and that doesn't add days to upgrades/downgrades. I don't want everyone sitting around and waiting for over a week. That's fucking insane. Calling something stupid or saying it's broken doesn't help anyone it only makes more problems. Come up with a solution that is plausible and it will be taken into consideration. If your suggestion adds days to stuff, then it will likely not happen.

Fleury DID NOT have a high amount of BLKS. He is not getting any upgrades no matter how much you whine about it. Things may change going forward and now if upgrades/downgrades take longer, the league has you to thank for it.

I asked GMs about this before we started but never got any real answers. Only vague ones expecting me to come up with a system that we could implement. I tried to take my opinion out of the upgrades/downgrades other than my selection of stats to use. That's probably why something like this never got any traction before. I don't want it to be my choice if someone gets a bigger upgrade over other players. If someone wants to create a document that outlines who would get a bigger upgrade, please do. I would look over it and discuss it with the other admins. It would only apply to 75+OA tho. 

If a player is 65 OA and plays in the AHL, he can get a +5. I don't want a bunch of sub-70 OA players on NHL teams. Those 50-something players will most likely be 69+OA when they are 22+ yrs old if they play 2 seasons in the AHL.

I might change the numbers for the junior players for when I enter them into the number generator. This is an easy change and I had already decided to discuss it with the other Admins.

I for one am good with the upgrades. LA probably has a point about Denisenko, and just that rule in general about 20-23 year olds. But FLA, there’s always going to be a couple guys that make you go, “oh man, that sucks”, but that’s just the way it goes in these things. It’s a TON of work. And DET banged that out pretty damn quick. Enjoy each league for their differences, and just appreciate there are people out there willing to put in a ton of work just because they like these leagues.

Yeah, Denisenko is a perfect example of the system hurting a player performing well. Which sucks, cause I don't want to hurt the players who sim well. When something like this was suggested I was having a hard time deciding on what to choose as the baseline for bigger upgrades. If a player performs well, at what level for goals and points do players get a bigger upgrade. This was the reason it was never put into place. I could never decide on what is considered good and what is not for each overall and each player type.

I think this had more to do with the regular season performance of the team, opposed to the playoff performances.

Philly, with all due respect, was a wild card team to finish, and didn't have players eclipse the 70 point plateau. Production-wise, it was underwhelming.

Like, you expect more from guys like Voracek and DeBrincat, who both were under 60 points.
