Also, NYI might have a point on the splitting up sim duties. There are workarounds for roster sharing (if you don’t already know, hit me up), and you could probably set that up pretty easily. Wings doesn’t care he’s not saying he doesn’t want to sim the ahl. Was mostly brought up by me and Buffalo in a group chat I could care less about AHL, im more about building a team around trades and FA (Am i good at it? No, but its fun). But i also appreciate people wanting to build players up. I probably originally brought this up to try to make the league different. I dont know if eliminating AHL and doing nothing else is the answer.

A handful of guys ended up as good top nine or even top six forwards (84+). I think thats pretty much ideal. I’m talking 2nd round only. Not one guy made top 9 or top 6 59th pick Sean Durzi ended up an 86 54th pick Akil Thomas ended up an 85 Two 2nd rounders were 84 Three were 83 Five were 82

That's exactly the reason why there shouldn't be more rounds, as is any player drafted early 2nd round is going to take at least 3-4 years to be NHL ready and the chances of a mid-late 2nd round pick becoming something are pretty slim. 2nd rounders also become worth less every season the league goes on because the average overall is consistently going up so the high 70s-low 80s these guys cap out at start to become more and more useless. I just don't think having a few extra AHL players and once in a blue moon getting someone drafted after Round 2 to be an NHL player is worth all the hassle for the simmer and all the clutter it'd add to the site.

Also, not many value a 2nd round pick in a trade already. Imagine trying to trade a 3rd rounder

By the time season 5 rolls around 84s are almost 4th liners
