Right now I have auto-rotate goalies on and I let the game decide on who should start each game. I can turn this off and your starter will always play. Your backup will never play unless you switch him in. You would need to update your lines and list your back up as your starter if you wanted him to play some games. He would start for all games in the next sim. And all sims going forward until you updated your lines.

If the auto rotate is off, the onus would be on the GM’s to rotate their goalies to what they want.
They can’t complain if their backups don’t play.
EDIT: What can be done as well is that if you want a goalie to play inside a certain set of sims, but still want your main starter in too, you post it and give details on the updated lines.

Should keep it on otherwise there’s no reason in having a backup and just sign some plug for league min

If my team has 3 games in a sim and I put i want my back up as my starter, i dont want the dude to play all 3.
And i personally think its way too much work for the simmer if I say I want my started to play 2, and my back up to play 1.
Just my opinion.

If you want your rookie goalie to play, you need a shittier back up. It aint a surprise.

Whoever you list as your starter once I start simming would be your starter for all games if auto-rotate was OFF. I would ignore all other garbage that is listed about how many games to start a goalie. I went out of my way and I did something similar in the first season for a couple of teams and then they bitched and complained in the offseason about their goalies anyways. So I wont be doing that again.
