tbh I think tanking is part of his plan, and this would help him do so. Although, Kuemper didn't perform too poorly at 0.905sv% vs Holtby's 0.918 considering WSH placed 10 spots higher than VAN (and Kuemps played 7 more games).

Tanking or not, he can ask for prospects or picks that will still help him tank and give him some type of value along with Kuemper.

Gonna reject this one. I respect Washington wants the cap space, but it’s not like Holtby is on some terrible contract - he’s only saving a million bucks - and that alone doesn’t make up for the 3 Overall difference 

Especially in the mid-high 80s range, a few overall points can be a huge difference.
