It's an expiring contract and he's giving up nothing. It's to help him compete for this season while Minny clears the cap hit

I'm assuming PIT needs to do this to make other trades, he's at the cap floor and it's probably really hard for him to make other moves without going below.

Yeah this trade was so that I could get less cap space, cause I'm right next to the cap floor and I have 2 trades in place I wanna make after this now that I'll have less cap, lol. It's only for hald a year anyways, lol
