I don’t get how this is seen as like some thing we have to create an entirely new system for. It would be a minor change that is easy to implement. This APU change does not fix the problem with young goalies. It just pushes it to 80 OA instead of 78 OA.

Goalies have to anchor teams when they start. That’s why they get more seasoning in the minors as opposed to a guy who plays on the fourth or at best third line as a call-up with two other capable line mates. I don’t know how else to describe how they aren’t the same I know they are not the same but you are not giving me any solutions to the problem. Even if goalies are the only ones that are allowed to use APU up to 80 OA. you still have the same problem, just that the goalie is now 80 OA and not 78 OA. Only a tanking team is going to have that 80 OA goalie as a starter. Most teams will have them as a backup and slowly bring them along for a season or 2 and then make them the starter. Look up, I just did. For any player it’s 1 APU for 75-80 or whatever you guys choose and that’s for any player. If a goalie gets to 80 through upgrades or APU it then becomes 2 APU to go up an overall for goalies to a maximum of 82

Or 81 or whatever, but if it increases for skaters it should scale up for goalies

It would have to be +2 to from 78 OA to 79 OA and probably +3 to go from 79 OA to 80 OA. The league overalls will eventually get way higher but making it easier to upgrade players to 80 OA would accelerate that and could potentially throw off salaries and the salary cap. Players in the bottom six of teams would be paid more and a lot of teams could be stuck in bad cap situations because of it. PR would sign all those bottom guys to more money.

It's the reason why we started with 78 OA as the max.
It is also super easy for a player 78 OA and in the NHL to get upgrades.
It would also be easier to game the system if it was only +1 each overall from 78 to 80. You could sign a 22 yr old to a 1M or so contract for 3-5 yrs, then APU him to 80. Start him in the NHL to get a +3 and then use MPU on him the next season. You then have a player making 1M or less and most likely 85+ OA.

I could sign a 22 year old forward on my team to that contract and use all my MPU on him. Can you even use APU and MPU on someone in the same season?

Dude you are grasping at straws so hard to not be wrong

This could be the exact same for a forward. You already recognized that forwards are different than goalies. And your scenario assumes the 22y.o gets a +3 when you just made it extra clear young players aren’t guaranteed an upgrade

So in your scenario you’d still be taking a significant chance unless what you’ve said about young player upgrades is bullshit

You’re wrong. And the more you try to move the goalposts the more obvious it is.

Former Canucks GM whats your deal man? I don't understand why we have to have people complaining all the time when you said yourself these things are supposed to be fun. This site has been up and running for what a month or two maybe? Its new. We are working on trying to make it something different from the other sites and a fun experience. Why do you feel the need to complain? This site has great members who have been extremely active, and honestly, you and FLA are the only ones who have complained. And FLA doesn't go off in 3 pages like you do so I don't even have an issue with him. But to shoot people down because you aren't getting your way is a little much. I have no issues with people voicing there opinions and providing suggestions like FLA, but you are a little excessive.

I don't usually say anything but I am gonna say something here. This site is fun, active and interesting. It is different than any other site I was on and that is what makes it fun. Each site should be different in their own ways. If every one was similar, it would become boring fast. As for the argument, Goalies do take longer to get to the NHL and reach their potential. People want realistic sims here, so why not let the goalies take their time getting to the big time. If you want to play them, go for it. It is a rebuild typically then and the goalie will either flourish or flounder. In real life, Fleury was in Pittsburgh quick and the team took a few years to get it right but they did. You don't see a lot of 18 year old goalies performing amazingly at the NHL level.
It sounds as if things were discussed and will be implemented in a season or two. Which won't take a long time to get here really. So why don't we all sit back, have fun and enjoy the site. Let it be different than other sites and let those sites be different than this.
Again, I think this site is doing very well. It has its hiccups but which site doesn't. Having an open discussion is great but to whine about not getting your way is a detriment to your suggestions/discussions.
All of the GM's here have made the last month or so on this site quite entertaining. I look forward to seeing the next few seasons done just as well as the first season.
Thank you to everyone on this site for making it entertaining. And can people tell me where to sign up for the drama acting classes some of these guys have taken because I could use some lessons as my acting skills aren't to their levels jk jk I kid I kid

I love these things for the realism of them. Trying to live my GM dream. But some people don't seem to like the realism which is fine to argue. I agree with you, this is to too much lol. the same argument always comes up about clauses too, which i personally like because of the realism. But i guess everyone sees things different, but theres a way to go about it. Anyways, i would say 90% of people here are loving it, and we are always open to feedback

I’m feeling like Kruze right now so that’s all I have to say about it but these are concerns you should actually give a shit about. People care about these sites and give a lot to f time to them. Not the amount of time you do, but nobody here is suggesting anything that deserves to be immediately dismissed. It’s honestly a load of bullshit If you don’t like it here you can go and run your own league then or stop acting like an entitled piece of crap. Youre just embarrassing yourself the more you type lol. If you have a problem with something here dm me I have all the answers you’re looking for. Nobody wants to come on the site and see whining like this it’s not healthy for anyone. Suggestions are fine there brought up all the time and looked at. When this league was opened up I went and got the best 10-12 guys who I could think of to become mods. I took into account who are active, who have been around for awhile, and who engage in trying to make the site better. To your suggestion of making a different overall for a goalie guess what dmen also take longer to develop. And yes we’ve been discussing this in a private chat like we’ve said a hundred times and also changing the draft picks up a bit. If you don’t want to be here that’s fine that’s up to you. There’s other leagues like rockem who have the exact same mods there as there are here. There’s also a lot of mod messages in that one that are private too 😉. It’s alright to have a healthy discussion about things but when it turns to whining it gets out of control. Case in point RK he brings up lots of discussions but he doesn’t attack anyone. This thread will be locked if you have anything else to say you can dm me personally and I’ll look into it for you.

Also Florida Panthers GM thanks for bringing this up we’re most likely changing apu to 80. We’re not quite sure if it’s going to be skaters or just goalies.
